Week Notes - 2026-25
The Adventures of Elliot released last week so I downloaded the demo and got stuck in. The game is fun but I don't think it's a 'full price' game for me. I am a sucker for things that resemble 2D Zelda titles, and this game hits all the right notes. Definitely one to put on my Wishlist for the winter sale (or beyond)
I did try and play some more Cybersleuth but now I realise now is not the time. After not playing for a week or so, I couldn't figure out where to go without a guide. I don't know if I missed something, or if the game is simply tedious. Perhaps I'll try it again at some point with a fresh mind but for now it's off the backlog.
On a more positive note, I spent a chunk of time catching some of the legend fish in Cast n Chill whilst relaxing in our hammock. I went out to simply test if Moonlight streaming would work from the garden on my iPad and I can confirm it definitely worked perfectly. Given the forecast for the upcoming week , I doubt I'll be playing many games in the evenings as I would prefer it didn't die from overheating.
I made a massive dent in This Inevitable Ruin but didn't manage to quite finish it. The story is wild, and I honestly didn't see where it was going at all. Very excited to see out the end of the story over the next few nights. I might even jump straight into the next Dungeon Crawler Carl book!
Over the weekend, we were quite busy. Saturday saw a trip to the tip which is always great. Another car load of junk has left the building! If it wasn't going to be so hot this week, we'd probably continue to sort the garage out which still has unopened boxes from our move nearly two years ago... I also finally installed a hanging basket bracket for my wife (drilling holes in the outside of our house always terrifies me) and we also connected our new water butt. Therefore, you can blame/thank me for the weather this week.
Sunday saw a trip to BBC Gardeners World Live. We'd told ourselves we weren't going to buy any more plants, and well...
We watched a talk from Professor Alice Roberts and saw the flagship evolution garden on display. A highlight for me was the Garden Railway stand! Turns out they have their own show which is in the diary for 2027.
