Week Notes - 2026-33
This week I completed Storm Front by Jim Butcher (the first in the Dresden Files series) I thought I'd read it years ago but either I didn't or I'd completely forgotten it. It was rather good, and I'm excited by the prospect of another series to keep my reading attention.
I started reading another Boss Fight Games book afterwards - Galaga by Michael Kimball. It's an interesting rundown of the history of the arcade title but the style is a little weird. It's short so I'll stick with it!
On my retro-handheld I played a few more stages of Pocket Bomber Man. I am enjoying playing the stages I never managed to beat as a child! I also found an interesting game-boy homebrew version of Wordle called Wordyl which is fun.
We finally got back to boardgames this week after buying a copy of Yahtzee. Maybe not technically a board game, but it has dice so I'm counting it as one.
I also continued work on my time tracking solution, and now I've used it in anger/production for a week I am really happy with the outcome. It now has support for streaks so I've set up "Walk 7500 steps a day", "Read every day", "Play a game three times a week", "Play a board game at least once a week". This already made me notice I am on a 16 day reading streak at the time of writing this, and has made me actively read more. Win Win.
